My favourite book

Hello Year 2!

Even though our school is closed this week because of the flood/bushfire, our learning continues online.

This week, we’ll be working on our “My Favourite Book Presentation” project.

You’ll learn how to plan, practise, and present your ideas clearly using your voice, expression, and visuals.

Follow the steps and activities on this page to create and share your own short presentation — just like you would in class. Have fun showing us your favourite story and why you love it!

Complete

Activity 1 - Select a book

Activity 2 - Design your poster

Activity 3 - Make flashcards

Activity 4 - Create powerpoint presentation

Curriculum outcome - AC9E2LY07: Create, rehearse and deliver short oral and/or multimodal presentations for familiar audiences and purposes, using text structure appropriate to purpose and topic-specific vocabulary, and varying tone, volume and pace

By the end of this task, students will be able to:

  1. Identify features of expressive reading, including tone, pace, and emotion, demonstrated in a read-aloud story.

  2. Explain how voice and expression help engage an audience during a presentation.

  3. Demonstrate understanding of storytelling techniques used by speakers to make reading interesting.

  4. Reflect on their own speaking and listening skills by answering comprehension and reflection questions.

  5. Prepare ideas for their own oral presentation about their favourite book, applying what they learned about tone, pace, and expression.
